What is Medicare Advantage (Part C)?

Medicare Advantage is a type of health insurance plan offered by private insurance companies that provides the same coverage as traditional Medicare (Part A and Part B) and additional benefits such as:

  • Vision
  • Dental
  • Hearing
  • Prescription Drug Coverage
  • Fitness Club Memberships

Medicare Advantage plans are required to cover all medically necessary services and must limit out-of-pocket costs. These plans often have networks of healthcare providers that members must use, and may require prior authorization for certain services.

Members typically pay a monthly premium in addition to their Medicare Part B premium.
